It informs people what is going on around their area and the world. It deals with the techniques for carrying out the plans. Now days, many people have the access to the internet. One of the social networks success stories is the Obama campaign. It accomplished the goal not only through commercials on different media but also through sites that are easily viewed by voters.
MyBo is a social networking site designed for the obama campaign. It had collected millions of dollars in donations within a month. It had hundreds of thousands of volunteers who worked online sitting in their homes. The network portion out and split lists of volunteers by regions and give tasks to perform. Then, the volunteers go out in their neighborhood to encourage people to vote.
The social network allowed supporters to use the site very easily to donate money, organize meetings and house parties to run their own fund raisings. The site made possible for people to involve and participate in the campaign. These days, there are many social networking sites that are being accessed by millions of teenagers. For many, the internet is a place for self-expression and /or socializes with other friends. They can upload videos and pictures to be viewed by others. For example, Jessica who is a high school student was lonely. She hadn’t had friends and was tortured by other kids. But after she started the network and uploaded pictures, she said, her life completely changed. People start noticing her. Teenagers want to become famous and look “hot”. Many parents have no idea what is going on behind their children bedroom doors. They are concerned because it is hard to control what the children do and no body is in charge to stop the violence such as the cyber harassments and bullying. they fear predators would take advantage of their love ones.
